Are you Career Ready? The answer is probably no.

However, you certainly can get there no matter your class level. You may need to do more in a shorter period of time if you are a senior vs. a first year, but you can still get there!

According to employers recently surveyed by the National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE) there are four competencies that are seen as vital for every new graduate to have in order to be competitive and ready to join the workforce.

  1. Critical Thinking/Problem Solving
  2. Professionalism/work Ethic
  3. Teamwork
  4. Communication Skills

Additionally, there are four other competencies that students should also work towards obtaining during their time at Carolina.

  1. Career Management
  2. Leadership Skills
  3. Global Perspective
  4. Technical Application

By maximizing your time at UCS and taking advantage of your surroundings and all this community has to offer, you’ll be putting yourself in a greater position when it comes time to put on that blue gown and toss that cap in the air on Mother’s Day however many years from now that it takes.
