Thank you letters are a great way to express you appreciation and gratitude to someone for something they have done. Thank you letters can be written to people such as job interviewers, colleagues, mentors, or someone you have had an informational interview with. You may be wondering, why should I write a thank you letter? Writing a thank you letter allows you to express your gratitude to the person who helped you. Thank you letters are also a way to build a stronger relationship with someone. That being said, don’t right a thank you letter to just try and get ahead in your career. If you choose to write a thank you letter make sure it is heartfelt and sincere, otherwise there is a chance of it coming off in a negative light. When writing thank you letters make sure to send it soon after the event has occurred. Thank you letters can be sent via email. Personally, I prefer sending hand-written thank you notes. By sending a hand-written note it shows that you took the time to think and write about what that person did for you. A hand-written note shows you really valued their time and it will brighten the day of the person receiving it.
